This work originates in the analysis of the possibility of translating the
genetic fingerprint into a musical fingerprint characteristic of an
individual by extracting the DNA of a group of volunteers within the
scientific - medical - microbiological environment. In "Genoma Music 1" we
translated into music genetic sequences, genes of microorganisms and
diseases. But why not finding a way to reach closer to the individual by
translating into music his/her own genetic fingerprint? These is "Genoma Music 2"
GENOMA MUSIC-2. “Polimorphisms of the DNA of scientists, translated to musical sounds: searching for the individual”
On November 12, 2003, the second project “Genoma Music-2” “Music on the Genoma, searching for the individual”, was launched during the Madrid Community 3rd Scientific week. The form and manner how this second project has been carried out was then thoroughly explained, as if it were a dissection . Once more, it tries to bring science and music together, on the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the double helix (DNA structure) by the scientists James Watson and Francis Crick and it has meant for its participants a new challenge in the musical translation of the Genetic Fingerprint (GF). This GF is obtained from an oral cellular sample, DNA extraction and STRs amplification.
